Question...

How much time would it take for the Obama Administration to change a light bulb?

Answer...

Step 1: Run for the office of President of the United States attacking the idea of a greedy, burned-out light bulb, glorifying the hope of fundamentally changing it out for a new, fresh, non-incandescent light bulb, (unless he wanted to be incandescent) that would take the nation to greater heights resulting in a world where the light was accessible from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Step 2: Once elected, repeatedly allude to the fact that it burned out on President Bush's watch and therefore his fault.

Step 3: Complain that the absence of light appears to be much greater than was expected when you took office and it's going to take more money than you thought to replace it.

Step 4: Allow Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to devise a procedure for replacing the light bulb with one that will shine on more people, cost less, and be revenue neutral.

Step 5: Ignore any consumer advice on what they want in a light bulb and decide on a bold, fundamental change to make one that fits every possible light socket combination and voltage while promising the "Bulb Partiers" that they will be able to keep their old bulb if they like it, while allowing others to have a "national bulb option" that shines on everyone - including those with preexisting burned out bulbs.

Step 6: After hundreds of hours of closed-door experiments trying to make a successful bulb, have a national press conference touting the new, better, brighter, more efficient, and revenue neutral "BULLb."

Allow 72 hours for real journalists and "not real" journalists to scrutinize the 2000+ page user manual, where it is discovered after the first two hours that the "BULLb" is not a real light bulb, but an old, socialistic light bulb concept that is dimmer, exponentially more expensive, is subject to rationing, and requires the taxpayers to start paying for it 4 years before it will be replaced. It is also revealed that the "BULLb", being not so bright as the previous national attempt at a public bulb, will not shine on as many people as promised.

Step 7: Go into hiding from the "not real" journalists when it's revealed that nobody will be able to keep their old bulb, and even worse, when it is exposed that in the manual is a chapter on the formation of a Bulb Death Panel designed to rid the nation of expensive, inefficient bulbs for the greater good.

Step 8: Fail at producing even one "BULLb", even though you control both sides of the bulb making process.

Step 9: Blame the previous administration again.

Step 10: When step seven falls on deaf ears, blame the minority Republicans for not taking a more active part in the process and "giving up everything that they believe in" for the sake of bipartisanship. Accuse them of presenting no ideas (see step 5) and call them to the carpet for obstructing the filibuster-proof bulb-making factory in making the "BULLb".

Step 11: Go before the American people and tell them you are still fighting for them in your quest for CHANGE of the light bulb. Say all sorts of things about HOPE and CHANGE that got you elected in the first place.

Step 12: Blame both George Bush and Ronald Reagan again for the burned out light.

Step 13-100: Continue to make hollow promises that result in no real action. Start firing your advisors while your approval rating continues to plummet as your constituency begins to realize that your words mean nothing and your promises to change the bulb are just a way to lead them on....and on... and on.

Fox News had all 13 of the top cable news shows in total viewers for the fifth month in a row in January, and had the best January in its history.
Fox was up 22 percent in total viewers in January compared to January 2009, and up an extraordinary 51 percent in the key 25-to-54 demographic.
CNN was down 34 percent in total viewers in January compared to the previous year, and MSNBC was down 26 percent.
Fox dominated its rivals in covering the major political event of the month, Republican Scott Brown’s victory in the Massachusetts special election for Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat, mediaite.com reported.

Fox was also helped by Sarah Palin, who joined the network as an analyst and drew 3.95 million viewers for her first appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Jan. 12.
For the month, Fox averaged 2.94 million prime-time viewers, compared to 946,000 for CNN and 838,000 for MSNBC, according to Nielsen.
CNN topped MSNBC in weekday prime-time viewers during January for the first time in six months, helped by its comprehensive coverage of earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
And MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann slipped to third in his time slot behind Bill O’Reilly on Fox and HLN’s Nancy Grace.

The "Thought Police" bigots are at it again...

Imagine this...
It's Norwegian History Month and you serve lutefisk, lefse, and smoked cod to commemorate the occasion.
Maybe it's Cinco de Mayo and you throw a big party and serve tacos, salsa, refried beans, and nachos... LOTS of nachos.
Or, during Ramadan, at your buffet table you serve hummus, falafel, saffron rice and Bukhari chicken.
Doesn't this sound like a perfectly sane thing to do?
My stomach is growling happily at the thought, but that's not the point.

According to the PC Police at NBC - if you would do something like this, you, my friend, are a racist of the worst kind!
Despicable.
I spit in your general direction!
You are so low you could dangle your feet off a dime!
You are dead to me!

It just so happens that this is Black History Month. No problem there. Yesterday, in honor of Black History Month, the chef at the NBC cafeteria, offered fried chicken, collard greens, and jalapeno cornbread on the lunch menu. And... you guessed it, somebody got offended and tattled like a child. Whatever happened to taking a moment to understand things a bit? Should they have been serving Chow Mein or gefilte fish instead? Puleeze!
And here's the kicker... that racist chef who callously offered a racist meal to racist customers who probably ate and enjoyed it with their racist taste buds on their racist tongues? Well, she happens to be black and very proud of her heritage and the food she grew up with.

Oops. I wonder when honoring your own heritage became offensive?

And another question, who was the bottom feeder who started all this "I'm offended and thus those who offend me are racists!" crap? I have so had it with these people! Find me anything, anywhere, any legal document, where it says you have a right to not be offended. Find that, and I will show you a country that has lost it's way and is being run by the residents of the asylum. In an article today, Bernie Goldberg nails it, stating:

"Let’s face it, there are people in our culture who derive their power from being offended. And there are people who make a pretty good living off of being offended."

These people rank right up there with those who sue when they get burned by hot coffee... or electrocuted for using their hair dryer while taking a bath.

How do we stop it? It takes voices. Mine. Yours. Anyone who sees that these out of control "children" need some discipline. Open your mouth and argue. Fight Back! Get in their face and accuse them of being politically correct robots who cannot think for themselves. Even more, call them what they are... bullies.

Make a decision with me. Make a decision with this guy...

Do we stand here and let the weakness of the left dictate how we live our lives? Are you content to tippy-toe around your life taking care that you don't offend anyone? If you take no stand, no position of principle or conviction... If you refuse to fight for your own self-respect as a citizen of this great country, then do it for your kids. I know, it seems like all you hear from the left is "We gotta do this for the Children!!!!!! If you don't agree with us you are killing children - starving children - hating children..."

Speaking of hating, why is it that the tone of the offended - when accusing those like me of hating - sound so much like the act they are accusing me of? Is hate the exclusive attitude of the political right and the accusing recognition of hate, the exclusive right of the political left? In fact, the left is so sensitive to being accuse of anything politically correct, they literally assume that the accuser must be correct without even verifying the facts or putting eyes on the situation. They would rather appease than stand on principle. The above example of the NBC cafeteria is a perfect example.

Two things are brought to mind as I ponder this... One is the old retort that kids use when called a name, "It takes one to know one!" The other is Aesop's fable, The Boy Who Cried Wolf. All I can say to the left is, your cries are starting to fall on deaf ears. It you really value the reduction of racism,

I expect that most of those who are reading this - conservative, liberal, or blahderate - are getting tired of this offended victim mentality. And due to this change in the wind, conservatives are viewed as "picked on" whereas liberals are looking like morally ungrounded bigots - because race pimps, "selective" civil libertarians, and intellectually dishonest arguments of "we're doing it for the children" (among others) have sway over their collective platform and are muddying the great ethical integrity they claim to uphold.

We haven't lost this country yet. But if what you're seeing now leaves a bad taste in your mouth, know this... We are moving in the wrong direction. You know it. I know it.
Get involved. Start a blog. Run for office.
And above all things - do it with integrity and honor.
I have faith in you....

The Dippy Drinking Bird strikes again!

Once again...

our Supreme Leader forgets who he is.
Last Thursday, the President of the United States of America, leader of the free world, forgot who he was and bowed to the first person with a government position he could find...
This time, he bowed to Mayor Pam Iorio of Tampa, FL.

I'm getting tired of this. This is not being polite. This is odd behavior. An American President is supposed to take your hand and shake it firmly while maintaining amicable eye contact.

We have seen him bow to Emperor Akihito of Japan....

Here he is bowing to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia...

Another bow to China’s Premier, Wen Jiabao...

And even another to Chinese President Hu Jintao.

This is unsatisfactory and embarrassing to me. It seems while my President is bowing to all the royalty and despots of the world, he is showing me the bird and feeding me lies and evasiveness on anything domestic.

Now, I can't judge him for what he thinks he's portraying when he bows, for I cannot know his thoughts. But I can judge his actions and try to formulate a picture of what I think he is projecting when he bows.

It is a given, that bowing slightly in the direction of your counterpart while shaking hands - in congruence with eye contact - is completely acceptable. In an obvious attempt to justify this strange penchant for bowing, there are liberal blogs pointing out that Nixon bowed to the Emperor of Japan, Hirohito, back in the seventies. But, as you can see, there is eye contact and simultaneous reciprocation.... Hmmm. Leave it to "Tricky Dick" to demonstrate the proper way to bow as a national leader.

So, when you bow without eye contact and simultaneous reciprocation you are ALWAYS presenting yourself in a submissive posture. This has been detailed in movies, books, documentaries, and etc. You just don't do it.

I find it interesting that since this flap has happened with President Obama, the left has fallen over themselves to protect him and not criticize publicly. Yet, when Bill Clinton, our "first black President" if I remember his words correctly, "almost" bowed to the Japanese Emperor at a White House function, even the New York Times itself appeared to be a bit flustered by the near miss, trying to reassure the public that it was an improvisation of typical Bill merging with a Japanese custom. A White House spokesman stated then what needs to be heeded by the current administration now... "Presidents don't bow..."

For the record, I don't have a problem with bowing if it is done properly, in context, and shows both parties as equals. It is a sign of mutual respect and honor. Nothing wrong with that. But each time we see President Obama bowing, he is the instigator of the bow. Please, for the sake of our collective American self-respect, somebody at the White House, please get your act together and research bowing. I know a President is not perfect, nor does he (or she, someday... "Hi Sarah!") know everything. So I blame my President's handlers as much as I blame him. Even more perhaps.

If this is deliberate White House protocol policy, shame on you!

If this is an oversight... after multiple gaffes... double shame on you.

Get it together, or we will vote you AND your policies out!

This is why I can't have my President going around bowing at anything that moves...

When I saw that picture on TV, all I could picture was that silly Dippy Drinking Bird toy that many of us had when we were kids. Y'know, the one with the red or green liquid that would make it bob like it was alive and drinking?

If I thought of it, so must others... and sure enough, there were more. I don't want my President to be made a laughingstock by the world. If not liked, at least world leaders respected Reagan. Many feared him. For all the ridicule President Bush 43 got, he wasn't ignored and slighted by European leaders. Today, we are facing a world that forgets to set a place at the negotiation table for our President.

The world has lost respect for us.

Without respect, we are open to those who have no fear of us.

We are on a slippery slope created by appeasement. It's time to get off and climb back to the top.

Afterthought... Hey guys... maybe there are some old Nixon "Game Tapes" lying around the White House that y'all can set down, pop a little popcorn, and get some pointers on how a statesman does his job.

Oh yeah, that's right... they're hidden away in some dark place... next to somebody's birth certificate, a folder of Rose Law Firm billing records, and what's left of our national pride!

Y'know, it's one thing to be called a racist...

...for words that came out of your own mouth.
And, if that is the case, then take your lumps.
But it's another thing for someone to call you a racist through their own racist remarks....

The Honorable Harry Reid, Senator from the Great State of Nevada, the chosen leader of the majority Democratic Party in the Senate... was embarrassed this week by some "off the record" statements he made during the 2008 Presidential Election cycle.
In the new book Game Change, on the shelves this week, the authors quote the Democratic Senate Majority Leader as saying "off the record":

He was wowed by Obama's oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama -- a "light-skinned" African American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one," as he said privately. Reid was convinced, in fact, that Obama's race would help him more than hurt him in a bid for the Democratic nomination.

Now, some would argue that he was being racist about black people. They would be correct. But also knowing the intellectual elitist that he thinks he is, it's my humble opinion that he was probably trying to be clinical in his approach to politics and race as far as Mr. Obama was concerned. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have the gift for parsing the English language the way the Clinton WH did. So he opened his mouth and inserted foot.
So is this the end? Is he now labeled a racist by conservatives but, being a liberal, he gets a pass from the media and moves on unscathed? Of course!
But there is more to this story... he's getting intimately personal with you and me!
My beef resides in his assertion that the country was ready to embrace an especially light-skinned black man... only because of the color of his skin.

What a sanctimonious ***hole.
He's calling me - and you - a racist because he thinks that, in his great - all knowing - godlike - liberal hack pollster-driven - wisdom, I can't vote for a dark-skinned black man. I'm just incapable of it because a liberal pollster tells him so...
Here's a little ditty I wrote just for him called Harry's song - (a la Jesus Loves Me...)

You're a racist, this I know...
For my pollster tells me so.
In your mouth, the words you'll choose...
"The skin's too dark, so he must lose!"

Must I list off the dark-skinned black men and women that I would stand behind, for President, over the "Perfect Storm" light-skinned Messiah?
The "Perfect Storm" that voted "present" in the majority of U.S. Senate votes that required a hard stand based personal convictions and foundational core values? ...not that this is anything different than his M.O. in Illinois...
The "Perfect Storm" who was johnny-on-the-spot for his health-care reform love-child, but didn't have the time of day to make a decision regarding the needs of his military who were physically in harm's way and NEEDED him?
The "Perfect Storm" who travels the world as our supreme ambassador and cheerleader, only to denigrate and belittle his fellow Americans while pandering to the rest of the world?

How Dare Harry Reid and the rest of his Democratic sycophants accuse me of being a racist!
You can accuse me of alot of things, but racism is not one of them!
This is indicative of the culture of the Left and the Democratic Party.
They accuse everyone who doesn't agree with them on any issue as being racist or homophobic or just plain stupid, when the truth is they are worse!
Words screamed at the top of your lungs are not made Truth because of their sound pressure level... Words are deemed Truth because of the foundation of substance they are built upon.
You cannot call everyone in America racist. Calling an individual a racist requires first-hand knowledge.
Are you sure you know my thoughts Mr. Reid? 'Cause we've never talked - and I don't think you're Vulcan... But I guess I know your thoughts due to your "off the record" diarrhea of the mouth.
Why don't you keep your thoughts to yourself from now on?

Personal note to Nevada conservatives...
We will all be indebted to you when you send Harry into retirement.

Global Warming is Dead! No, no it's not.. it's resting!

Everyone but the fools...
pushing the fraudulent global warming hoax like internet Viagra or oregano marijuana on a street corner are so invested in it that they cannot see or smell their own barbara streisand.

Now, I'm one of those guys that seems to see humor in most situations, and this is no exception.
Think of the scenario we are living in.
Smarmy salesman types who tout themselves as intellectual "saviors" browbeat us with their truth and then sell us their product that will save the world... while they make a cool profit on the side...
As usual, I turn to my political professors - more commonly known as Monty Python's Flying Circus - to explain the situation...

I was thinking that I should start a pool to pick the date that AL Gore admits that global warming is no longer valid, but I realized that nobody will win because he will NEVER admit to anything close to that.
Chances are, he will just take his parrot and go home to enjoy the billion dollars he has made from all the suckers he has bilked with his carbon credit snake oil.

Gotta give him credit for being committed to something. Though, if you think it was the environment, you'd be wrong.

Florida Government doesn't believe in Luck... or Common Sense.

Imagine if I was a couple of weeks late...
in renewing my driver's license, that is...

Maybe I was a little short on cash, had to wait until I scrounged up enough money to pay for the license renewal and, because I live in Florida, my automobile registration needs to be renewed as well...
So, I went to the DMV, just like I had done years before and, when I got to talk to a DMV employee, they asked me for my driver's license, and my birth certificate or passport - all because... you guessed it, somebody changed the LAW! Now according to the law:

If your license has been expired for more than 12 months you are not eligible to renew online. You must go to a driver license office in person to renew. Bring your expired license, birth certificate, or passport. The fee is typically $20. You will have to take a vision test and if the examiner feels you need re-testing you will need to re-take a written and/or driving test.

Huh.
Well, my license hadn't been expired that long, but here I was anyway...

So, ok, I needed two forms of ID. The old license, I had on me, but what if I'd never gone out of the country, so I had no passport? And, to make things worse, I couldn't find that old copy of my birth certificate I used to get that license back 25 or so years ago when I got my first license!

What was I gonna do?

Well, the smart money was to go to the local County Health Department for the county you were born in, which, unless you were born on the corner down the street, may require you to use that expired driver's license and the car, with the expired tags, you're driving to go get that birth certificate. Well lucky me! I was born in this county and since Luck was on my side, the County Health Department was only a half mile away - saving me from having to break any more laws.

Now, as you can see, I may have been dealt a curve ball, but Luck had been smiling down on me, handing me a can of Smooth Sailing (no carbs, only 12 calories per serving) out of that bag of happy stuff he carries around and everything was going great! In a couple minutes, I hoofed it to the County Health Department and told them I needed a copy of my birth certificate. On the surface, things appeared fine. Looking at that nice lady on the other side of the counter, she appeared to be mild mannered and quite pleasant, but...
She works for the government. And government doesn't believe in Luck.

So she said to me, "No problem sir, we can get you your birth certificate. May I have your drivers license?"

Well, at that moment, my buddy Luck, squeaked audibly in total fear (eeeeek!), peed a little bit on my right shoulder where he had been sitting (yeah, try to explain that), grabbed his bag of happy stuff, and bolted out of the building. I knew things weren't looking good.

Putting a big cheesy smile on my face, I pulled out my driver's license and handed it over to her through the tiny slit in the glass they put up to protect the government workers from all the criminals breaking down the doors to rob them of all their birth certificates, notarized documents, and, the three Licenses of Life- hunting, fishing, and marriage.

She took my license with a smile, took a quick glance at it, and lay it on the counter. She turned away to look for a form she needed and froze. Slowly, she turned back around. Furtively, she glanced at my face and down at the license on the counter. Her shaking hand reached up and picked up the license. Her eyes roved across the small, plastic card as she studied it, held it up to the light, glanced at me then back at the license.

Her eyes narrowed and with pursed lips she croaked accusingly, "This license is expired."

"I know," I replied. "I'm here to get my birth certificate because I need a secondary form of ID in order to renew my driver's license."

"Well, you can't get your birth certificate without a valid driver's license!" she snapped. "It's plainly stated in the rules posted there on the wall behind you."

I looked. Hard. Sure enough, she was right. On the wall behind me, along with 200 other documents and notices of various sizes, there were the rules.
I tried another tack. "Is there any way I can get a birth certificate without a valid driver's license?"

"Of course there is," she stated, looking at me like I was a criminal. "You can bring in your mother or your father and they can request it for you."

Both my parents had already passed on and I told her so.

"Well, you need a legal representative with a notarized document signed by you stating they are authorized to pick up your birth certificate."

Huh. That didn't turn out the way I thought it would.

So I went to the bank with my wife to get a notarized document stating that my wife could pick up MY birth certificate. After explaining the situation to the bank's customer service representative, I noticed Luck's nemesis Misfortune sitting over in the corner giggling 'til tear's ran down her face... This wasn't gonna be pretty.

"Well we should be able to help you, sir," he said. "If I could see your papers for your wife's power of attorney, we can have you out the door in five minutes!"

"What do you mean, power of attorney?" I sputtered. "She's my wife!"

"When it comes to legal matters, sir, a marriage license doesn't cut it, sir," he responded.

"So tell me this then," I started, knowing I had to make a point here or go postal. "Let's say I'm in the hospital on life support. Now, our marriage license has enough power that my wife has the legal authority to pull the plug! But you're telling me, that even though she has the authority to end my life, she is not legally authorized to get a notarized permission slip to pick up my birth certificate????"

Five minutes later, as my wife and I were walking back to the County Health Department with notarized permission slip in hand, we turned a corner and there was Luck sitting on the curb. His bag of happy stuff sat beside him looking kind of empty. He looked up and saw us. A big smile spread across his face, "I see you've met my brother!" he exclaimed.

"Huh?" I asked looking at my left shoulder where Luck was looking.
"Hi there!" I said when I saw the little fellow there.

"Meet Common Sense, my big brother!" Luck said proudly. "He usually does most of the work. I only help out when he's busy or things get really bad..."

"Sorry I wasn't around earlier," my new friend said. "I was running a bit late today. I saw Misfortune following you around and got her out of the bank before things got really bad! I hope you don't mind."

"No problem," I said. I may have had a bad day, but things were looking up. Also, I had learned a valuable lesson about dealing with government that I would never forget. All in all, not a bad day after all.

Oh, and I'm all legal again. But I wonder.
What if I had gone to the Tax Collector with an expired license?
Do you think that they would take my tax check without a valid ID?
Yeah, Common Sense agrees with you on that one, too.

Now, this isn't just a bit of fiction... For all those wondering, most of this really happened to one of my best friends today.
The little characters, Luck, Common Sense, and Misfortune, not so much.
Don't you just love the efficiency of government?

If you just let liberals be themselves, you begin to understand that everything they decry about conservative thinkers, are really their inner demons screaming for a chance to act out.

Qualifications:
Must be a Liberal Thinker.
Must be insulting a Conservative Thinker at the time.
Insults must have a bit of truth to them, smothered with a generous portion of hypocrisy.

Don't even try to tell me this is an isolated incident.

A couple days ago...

I went to GOP.com to check it out, see if I could find the Florida GOP website, and then join my local county Republican group here in my part of Florida. What I found is more like something I would expect from Liberal Sites... Single issues and redundancy.

Ron Paul Republicans - the "if you don't vote for Paul, you're an idiot" group.

Constitutionalist Republicans - the Constitution is our National Bible... maybe we should read it more.

Back to Goldwater Republicans - those that follow Mr. Conservative 1.0... I guess someone needs to start a Back to Reagan Republicans for those who follow Mr. Conservative 2.0.

Conservatives Who Conserve - If I don't join, am I weak on the environment?

Laissez faire Republicans - a splinter group of the Ron Paul Republicans - so, if I believe in laissez faire, but I'm not a rabid fan of Ron Paul, what do I do?

Common Sense - If you have disdain for "words like, Conservative, Moderate, Centrist or Right", then this is the group for you. Personally, I have a disdain for people who think that abolishing common sense labels is common sense.

GOP for Life - should I have to join this group to get my opinion on abortion heard? See Pro-Life Republicans...

GOP Homosexuals - what does your sexual preference have to do with "the well founded principles of smaller government"??? If so, why is there never a GOP Heterosexuals?

Moderate Republicans - "Description: A group that has no set view on issues." Seriously? No set views? In my opinion, that usually means no set principles either. Make a solid decision people.

Pro Life Republicans - why does there have to be a group for pro-lifers? Isn't this ALREADY common sense?

Ok, so maybe I just made up the last four or five... but do you get the picture?
It's confusing! "Brian" had the same problem finding a place to fit...

WARNING - grown-up language follows...

Now, some of the groups I read about made perfect sense. Others struck me as overkill, done for spite, or prideful and refusing to be a part of something as a member of the team.
Many leaders with few, if any, followers.

This is extremely important - especially in this and the next election cycle.
We need to take back the Republican Party from the poll following, lack of principles crowd.
This means working together as a team.
This means taking some hard stands.
This means being labeled by the drive-by media.
This means some people will not like you.
This means you may be ridiculed by people you thought were on your side.
This means being bigger than yourself.
This means not being "splitters".

We can do this! Together. With one large unified voice, not a cacophony of individuals with pet projects.
We are "in this together"... not "in this separately."
So let's find that voice of unity... and watch the walls of liberalism crash down at our feet.

Historic?... so was Hurricane Andrew

Since when is taking over one-sixth of the economy historic?
Since when is spending a trillion dollars to cover 5 percent more people than previously, historic?
Our founding fathers may have known that what they were doing was historic,but do you ever remember studying their effort at trying to convince the citizens of the historicity of their actions?

No!

Well, history will tell the tale of this endeavor as it always does... and it has a way of revealing things that may not be very flattering.

Historic?

I think that once we start paying taxes now for benefits that don't kick in for four or five years, history will be handing out proverbial black eyes and fat lips.
So, Mr. President, Mr. Reed, and Mrs. Pelosi, go ahead and write your version of history now...
I think I'll wait for the Director's Cut.

Our intellectual bettors at MSNBC have a great political commentary shtick, according to Ann Coulter,

"The MSNBC host quotes a Republican (or a conservative - AL), then says "in other words," translates the statement into something that would be stupid to say, and spends the next 10 minutes ridiculing the translated version. Which no one said. Except the host."

Brilliant! Leave it up to liberals to simplify propaganda to the simplest of simple! The sheeple who regularly watch MSNBC never see it coming...

So, here's what I'm gonna do... Along with following the Politicians Named "AL", I am going to run a separate category called, you guessed it...

IN OTHER WORDS!

Al Franken, everyone's favorite liberal comedian turned senator made his first national hard-call decision yesterday as he stood firm against the tyranny of ten-minute floor speeches running overtime. Showing Senator Lieberman that he cannot hog all the time for himself, Mr. Franken denied him the extra two minutes he needed to finish his speech touting "time constraints" as a convenient excuse.
I wonder if he did the same for all senators speaking on the floor yesterday, or was he rude only to those he didn't agree with? Hmmmmm. Limiting free speech anyone? Never, not a liberal! They love free speech!

How inspiring to see the most junior of liberal senators standing up for the integrity of our honorable United States Senate!

The other day...

I was heading home to eat lunch with my bride, and listening to a radio report about the President's tanking job approval numbers. The White House ignores that figure, hinging their decision making reasoning on his 'like-ability' numbers instead:
"The low job approval numbers are just a reflection of the difficult job (Pres.) Bush left us with..." they say. "We can't help help that! But the fact is, that a majority of Americans still love President Obama and are behind him 100 percent!"

Of course, I'm paraphrasing here, but you get the drift.
Now, I've got a little different take on this... Remember how, during President Bush's second term in office, liberals would howl and scream about the War in Iraq, but "supported the troops"???
This is the exact same thing.
Liberals want to be on both sides of the issue with Obama.
First, they want their peers to see that they have 'principles', which seem to include keeping everyone from dying (except the unborn), milking every cent they can out of wealthy(evil) job-producing (wait, only the government does that) taxpayers, and bowing/kneeling to every dictator/king/despot that they meet.
Secondly, they desire to be part of the 'in' crowd.
So to be against what Obama is doing, yet still 'liking' him is a home run to them.
The fact is, many liberals don't like him much either, but since he's such a handsome socialist and has that dazzling smile, they just can't help themselves.

They're lying to themselves and the pollsters.
They just haven't figured it out yet.
His numbers will continue to drop.
We will be ready when they do!

Keep up the faith and keep 'em on their toes!
